answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2019 answer text <p>The Department does not hold estimates of the number of people living in accommodation that is unsuitable for their health needs or disabilities throughout the UK, in Greater London or in the London Borough of Lambeth</p><p><br> However, the Department publishes national statistics on social housing that is owned and managed by local authorities in England. Every local authority is required to have an allocation scheme for determining priorities and the procedure to be followed in allocating housing accommodation. The Government is collecting data on all external wall systems on residential buildings 18 metres and above, covering private and social (both local authority and housing association) stock, hotels and student accommodation. This exercise covers private and social (both local authority and housing association) stock, hotels and student accommodation.</p><p>The Government requests that local authorities and housing associations complete the data collection by 31 March 2020. We have published a technical note (18 July) to aid local authorities and housing associations in identifying the details of external wall systems. We are aiming to provide financial support to local authorities in the form of New Burdens funding.
