answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/11/2018 answer text <p>The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is one of nine Government departments contributing to the cross-government work on loneliness. <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/a-connected-society-a-strategy-for-tackling-loneliness" target="_blank">‘A connected society: a strategy for tackling loneliness - laying the foundations for change’</a>, sets out the Department’s commitment to tackling loneliness across a range of areas, including funding research into the impact of community-led housing and cohousing solutions on loneliness and working with the Local Government Association (LGA) and National Association of Local Councils (NALC) to explore an effective means of sharing learning and good practice.</p><p>The loneliness strategy takes action on the Jo Cox Commission’s recommendation for a family test: it requires government departments to report on their work on tackling loneliness in their annual Single Departmental Plans from 2019/20 and commits to including loneliness in the guidance for the Family Test.</p><p>The Inter-Ministerial Group on Loneliness will be continuing to explore additional options to ensure social relationships are considered across Government’s wider policy-making. At Budget, Government announced a package of support for towns and high streets that included cutting the business rates bills of eligible small retailers by one third for two years and the £675 million Future High Streets Fund. Our recent reforms to the planning system, including the revised National Planning Policy Framework, provide greater flexibility for a greater range and diversity of uses in our high streets. That includes diversification to incentivise small and medium sized business. The manufacturing sector drives innovation and exports, creates jobs and Government is committed to supporting the sector through the Industrial Strategy. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2018 answer text <p>In consultation with the Independent Expert Advisory Panel, The Government has also provided advice to building owners about common non-Aluminium Cladding Material (ACM) external wall systems, including ones using Metal Composite Materials, High Pressure Laminates (HPL) or External Wall Insulation (EWI) with a render or brick-slip finish.</p><p>We expect building owners to be systematically reviewing the safety of their buildings as a matter of course. We have given building owners clear advice about the steps that should be followed to remediate combustible non-ACM cladding for the longer term. Advice relating to cladding is under constant review and consideration by the Expert Panel which was set up following the Grenfell Tower fire. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2018 answer text <p>As we committed to in the written ministerial statement of 24 July 2018 (HCWS927), we have begun engagement with devolved administrations, including the Welsh Government, ahead of the public consultation, intended for later this year. This engagement began in September 2018 when HM Government officials held initial meetings with their counterparts in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Wider engagement with external stakeholders across the UK is ongoing.</p><p>We intend to consult on the design of the United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) later this year and encourage all interested parties to contribute their views. Final decisions on the detail and operation of the UKSPF will be made following the Spending Review in 2019.</p><p>In the meantime, we understand places around the UK require certainty of funding after we leave the European Union. We are confident that a negotiated agreement will be reached and that we will continue to take part in the 2014-2020 EU programmes until they end. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government is committed to reducing homelessness and rough sleeping. No one should ever have to sleep rough. That is why we have recently published our Rough Sleeping Strategy, which will help people who sleep rough now and puts in place the structures to end rough sleeping once and for all. It sets out the first steps towards achieving our aim to halve rough sleeping by 2022 and end it altogether by 2027, backed by £100 million of funding over the next two years.</p><p>We have set up a Rough Sleeping and Homelessness Reduction Taskforce which brings together ministers from key departments in preventing and reducing rough sleeping and homelessness, including the Department for Health and Social Care. The Taskforce will drive forward the implementation and delivery of our Rough Sleeping Strategy to achieve our commitment. Alongside the Taskforce, we have an expert Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel formed of key representatives from the homelessness sector and local government who fed into the Strategy and will continue to meet.</p><p>We are also committed to working with all local authorities as we move towards a country where no one should ever sleep rough through our Rough Sleeping Initiative, in which we are providing 1,750 additional bed spaces for rough sleepers and an additional 531 dedicated homelessness workers.
