<p>The National Planning Policy Framework and its accompanying planning practice guidance provide clear expectations on adaptation and resilience to a changing climate. All development plans should take a proactive approach to mitigating and adapting to climate change, taking account of the implications for flood risk, coastal change, water supply, biodiversity, landscapes and risks of overheating from rising temperatures.</p>
