answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/06/2018 answer text <p>Whilst the House of Commons is sitting the Serjeant at Arms (or an Associate) is positioned within the Chamber to manage any incidents which occur within it. Serjeants are supported by a team of Doorkeepers who are led by a Duty Principal Doorkeeper.</p><p>After eight minutes of a division, the entry doors to each lobby are locked by Doorkeepers, whilst the exit remains open. Doorkeepers remain with locked doors (and keys) to ensure they can be unlocked quickly if required in an emergency.</p><p>In the event of a fire (or other) evacuation, Doorkeepers will be directed to immediately unlock the doors and direct Members to evacuate by the most appropriate route – depending on the location of the incident.</p><p>Doorkeepers are first aid trained and have immediate access to equipment including first aid kits and an automated external defibrillator. Doorkeepers are also able to summon the nurse from Lower Waiting Hall.</p><p>The Serjeant at Arms is happy to discuss such procedures in detail with the hon. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/06/2018 answer text <p>Over the last few weeks the Digital Service has been working closely with our 3rd party providers to resolve issues relating to providing consistent connectivity to the internet direct/WMID WiFi services. Monitoring of the WiFi service has confirmed that the solution has stabilised and consistent connections have been achieved. Further WiFi improvement work is planned, working in conjunction with our providers.</p><p>The Digital Service is delivering a major investment programme for Parliament’s network; this is addressing issues around speed, resilience and most importantly security when accessing internet based services. As part of this programme, improvements to WiFi availability are being rolled out across the estate by installing additional WiFi access points. Members' areas have been prioritised, with some already completed and the rest (mainly Portcullis House and Palace of Westminster) will be completed by the end of June 2018.</p><p>Further targeted improvements across the estate, forming part of the infrastructure transformation programme, are being scoped including WiFi optimisation and efficiencies. House of Commons employees have a contractual entitlement to redundancy payment on these terms and no redundancy payments have been made over and above the Civil Service requirements since 2009.
