answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Government remains fully committed to relocating the specified number of 480 unaccompanied children to the UK under section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016 (the Dubs Amendment) as soon as possible. We will publish a full data set on the transfers once we have fulfilled this commitment.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Over 220 children were transferred to the UK under section 67 when the Calais camp was cleared in late 2016. Since then we have been making further progress with Greece and the other participating states, to transfer more eligible children to move closer to achieving this commitment</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations. answer text <p>Our priority is to ensure the safety of children during the camp clearance and to ensure unaccompanied children eligible to come to the UK are transferred as quickly as possible. Working closely with the French authorities through an agreed and proper process, and in conjunction with non-governmental organisations (NGOs ) and charities, Home Office officials have interviewed 800 children in the camp who claim to have close family in the UK. Since 10 October, we have transferred almost 200 unaccompanied children to the UK and we expect to transfer many more over the coming days and weeks. We will continue to work with British NGOs as part of this process.</p> more like this
