answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2017 answer text <p>Rule 17 of the Detention Centre Rules 2001 permits detainees to engage in paid activities while in detention and is provided as a means to occupy detainees and alleviate boredom.</p><p> </p><p>In accordance with Rule 17, pay rates are determined by the Secretary of State for the Home Department. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2017 answer text <p>Stalking and harassment are devastating crimes which can destroy the lives of victims.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2012, we have strengthened the law by creating specific stalking offences and raising the maximum sentences for both stalking and harassment from 5 to 10 years. Support for victims requires more than prosecution after the fact - that is why, following a public consultation, we are introducing a new civil stalking protection order. We take complaints about performance failures seriously and we have robust procedures in place to inspect, investigate and resolve issues when specific information is received.</p><p> </p><p>Asylum seekers who would otherwise be destitute can apply for free accommodation and cash support to cover their essential living needs.
