answer text <p>As part of the Police Officer Uplift Programme, the Home Office publishes a quarterly update on the number of officers in England and Wales, broken down by Police Force Area. The latest data, covering the situation to 30 June 2022, are available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/police-officer-uplift-statistics" target="_blank">Police Officer uplift statistics - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</a>.</p><p>The latest release, published on 27 July 2022 for data up to June 2022, showed that we remain on track to deliver 20,000 additional officers. As at 30 June 2022, 13,790 additional officers have been recruited from funding for the Police Uplift Programme representing 69% of the 20,000 allocation.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Home Office is working at pace to reduce the number of outstanding asylum claims. The Asylum Transformation programme aims to bring the system back into balance and modernise it, focussing on increasing productivity by streamlining, simplifying and digitalising processes, speeding up decision making and increasing efficiency and output. We are increasing the use of technology, improving screening to capture more information as early as possible, and introducing accelerated decision-making procedures, including shorter interviews and decision templates. A recruitment strategy is in place, with the aim of increasing staffing and decisions.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Prior to 2017, Border Force did not hold the required data in an easily accessible format for information relating to costs and the number of dependants of Border Force staff.</p><p>No specific budget is set as the costs incurred will vary from year to year. This is dependent on the variance of fees and can also change according to the number of staff that are deployed and the number of their dependants.</p><p>All Government guidelines are followed in relation to any deployments of staff overseas.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Since the Safer Streets Fund was established in 2020, we have invested £70 million through three rounds – funding a range of evidence-based situational crime prevention measures, including CCTV.</p><p>Through Round Four of the Fund, which launched in March, we are investing a further £50 million to tackle and prevent not only neighbourhood crime, but also violence against women and girls and anti-social behaviour. 111 successful projects were announced at the end of July and projects, which include delivery of improved and increased CCTV, will run over the 2022/23 and 2023/24 financial years.</p> more like this
