answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/09/2019 answer text <p>Currently nanotechnology used in medicine is regulated under the legislation that applies to medical devices and medicinal products.</p><p>The medical device regulations require that all medical devices are safe and perform as intended. The regulations have recently been updated and the new regulations include specific requirements for medical devices containing nanomaterials. This means that any medical device containing nanomaterials will be subject to more detailed regulatory scrutiny than under the current regulations.</p><p>As with all medicinal products, before a nanomedicine is granted a marketing authorisation and becomes available in the United Kingdom, it must be fully evaluated in relation to the appropriate standards required in the relevant legislation on medicinal products. Public Health England regularly publishes data on health outcomes, and the wider determinants of health, for the regions of England in the Public Health Outcomes Framework at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://fingertips.phe.org.uk/profile/public-health-outcomes-framework" target="_blank">https://fingertips.phe.org.uk/profile/public-health-outcomes-framework</a></p><p>The Government is working to improve the quality of people’s lives across the whole country. The Prevention Green Paper sets out proposals to secure five extra years of health, independent life by 2035 and reducing the gap between the rich and poor. The NHS Long Term Plan also commits to narrowing health inequalities over the next five and 10 years. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2019 answer text <p>NHS England is working with partners across the criminal justice and immigration removal system to improve services for offenders and detainees with mental health difficulties.</p><p> </p><p>National Health Service England specialised commissioners and NHS England health and justice (H&amp;J) Commissioners have also been working collaboratively alongside the mental health team in NHS England to develop work to improve mental health of prisoners and to develop and improve the system for transfers and remissions of adult prisoners to mental health hospitals</p><p> </p><p>Mental health summits are being delivered regionally to develop the whole offender mental health pathway, identifying local anomalies, and gaps as well as good practice, and producing locally owned action plans to improve services.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, new service specifications have been published for both low and medium secure hospitals as well as prison mental health services. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/05/2019 answer text <p>NHS England is the commissioning body responsible for ensuring high quality low, medium and high secure hospital accommodation.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this role, NHS England has developed a national approach to ensuring close partnership working with local NHS England health and justice teams to review patients’ needs and expedite access to secure mental health beds. This also includes a more detailed understanding of challenges in the system in relation to remissions from hospital to prison, so that access, progress and throughput is improved.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England commissioned a repeat of the 2017 National Health Service benchmarking audit on transfers and remissions in early 2019, and a full analysis of this data is currently taking place.
