answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/10/2018 answer text <p>I have not met with eating disorder units or discussed eating disorders with general practitioners to date.</p><p> </p><p>National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines published in May 2017 state:</p><p>- Initial assessments in primary and secondary mental health care: Do not use single measures such as Body Mass Index (BMI) or duration of illness to determine whether to offer treatment for an eating disorder; and</p><p>- Inpatient and day patient treatment: Do not use absolute weight or BMI as a threshold when deciding whether to admit people with an eating disorder to day patient or inpatient care.</p><p> </p><p>Commissioners and health professionals including general practitioners are expected to follow NICE guidelines when diagnosing and treating eating disorders. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2018 answer text <p>On 23 August 2018, the Department wrote to a number of pharmaceutical companies that supply the United Kingdom with medicines from, or via, the European Union/European Economic Area, asking them to ensure they have a minimum of six weeks’ additional supply in the United Kingdom, over and above their business as usual operational buffer stocks, by 29 March 2019 in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal.</p><p> </p><p>Since writing to pharmaceutical companies, we have received good engagement from the industry who share our aims in ensuring continuity of medicines supply is maintained for patients across the UK. The National Crime Agency monitors the strengths of all illicit drugs seized, including cannabis. In June 2018, the Department published the Carers Action Plan (CAP), which sets out a cross-Government programme of targeted work to support carers over the next two years.</p><p> </p><p>The CAP highlighted the work that NHS England and the Care Quality Commission have been doing to work with frontline primary care staff, commissioners, carers and carer representative organisations to develop a framework of quality markers that can be used by doctors’ surgeries to demonstrate how effective they are in recognising and supporting carers. Upon completion of the review, and subject to necessary approvals, NHS England aims to publish an updated version of the Care Bundle.</p><p> </p><p>There are no plans to include a new, specific element relating to multiple pregnancies in the updated version of the Care Bundle. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2018 answer text <p>Mental health will be a core part of the National Health Service long-term plan, and the Department has asked NHS England to plan for significant improvements in access to good mental health services.</p><p> </p><p>The waiting times targets for children and young people’s eating disorders services were developed within the context of broader improvements to children’s and young people’s mental health services following the publication of the Future in Mind report in 2015. NHS England has recently commissioned a national review of adult eating disorder services.
