Her Majesty's Ambassador Nick Whittingham recently demonstrated support for Judge Aifan through a meeting as well as a subsequent social media post. Moving forward, our Embassy is planning a series of virtual meetings and events that will promote the importance of the separation of powers, a strong judiciary, and the rule of law. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/09/2020 answer text <p>From 1 March 2020 we have recorded on our case management system cases specifically related to COVID-19. Since then we have supported 49 individuals who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and subsequently died. Fewer than five of these individuals were in the US. We have also provided consular assistance to 92 British nationals globally who were affected by the virus, for example a welfare concern, who have subsequently died, fewer than five of these individuals were in the US. These individuals may or may not have died of Covid-19. We are only aware of those cases that are reported to us and these figures do not necessarily represent the total affected. Where British nationals die overseas we can provide information and advice on local arrangements and where possible consular teams will refer the bereaved to relevant organisations, or provide information on such organisations, that can support them at what is a very difficult time. We hope and trust that justice will be done. The violence we've seen in the US around this is very alarming. We've been clear that people must be allowed to protest peacefully. We do so through ongoing initiatives such as the Wardrop Strategic Dialogue and the UK's Good Governance Fund, which is supporting economic reforms and Georgia's economic recovery from COVID-19. We have recently expanded the commercial section at the British Embassy Tbilisi, which works to identify new opportunities for UK businesses and address barriers to trade where they exist.
