<p>UK officials raised human rights issues, including the rights of journalists and
media workers, with the Afghan government during the Senior Officials Meeting in Kabul
in September 2015. Along with international partners, the UK is encouraging the Afghan
government to make progress on its Human Rights commitments, and will discuss progress
at the Joint Monitoring and Coordination Meeting in early 2016.</p><p>The UK works
with Afghan journalists and media organisations on a regular basis and has provided
funding to the Afghan Journalists Safety Committee, particularly their work monitoring
the safety of journalists reporting on the Presidential elections.</p>
