answer text <p>​Our Deputy Ambassador to Tel Aviv met with the Israeli authorities on 13 March to discuss the new immigration law, and we continue to push for clarification from Israel on the impact on British nationals. We have updated our travel advice for Israel.</p><p>The UK is strongly opposed to the Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions Movement against Israel. But we believe the best way to combat this movement is through argument rather than legislation.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The FCO's expenditure is as follows:</p><p>a) FCO accounts for all its hotel expenditure under <strong>Accommodation</strong>. The total expenditure is:</p><p>£6,567,637 in 2012-13,</p><p>£9,846,595 in 2013-14,</p><p>£13,835,786 in 2014-15,</p><p>£10,252,699 in 2015-16</p><p>£9,409,571 for 2016-17 (1st April 2016 to 28<sup>th</sup> March 2017).</p><p>b) FCO accounts for its hospitality expenditure under <strong>Representation</strong> <strong>of the FCO</strong> and <strong>Business Hospitality</strong>. These figures exclude expenditure on the FCO's staff travel package. This is an entitlement for staff posted overseas and for their qualifying dependents to travel during an overseas posting.</p>

During my visit I met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister Abul Ali, and opposition leaders Begum Khaleda Zia and Raushan Ershad.</p><p>The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson) hopes that the opportunity to travel to Bangladesh will arise in the future but he does not currently have any firm plans to visit.</p> more like this

We are engaged with the Government of Cameroon and will continue to raise the closure of schools with them. Our High Commissioner has spoken to President Biya urging him to find a resolution to these issues in order to return to normality as soon as possible.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Whilst there has been significant progress in Afghanistan on human rights since 2001, these gains are fragile and the overall human rights picture remains poor. The UK works closely with the National Unity Government, civil society and the international community to promote the development of human rights and this continues to be a priority for the UK.</p><p>We provide support to the development of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) to increase their capacity. Through the FCO Strategic Programme Fund, the UK has contributed the following funding to the AIHRC:</p><p>2014-15: £500,000</p><p>2015-16: £519,000</p><p>2016-17: (Forecast contribution) £320,000</p> more like this
