Our discussions have been with like-minded countries. The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson), hosted a meeting of like-minded partners on 16 October in London and the UK hosted a meeting of like-minded Syria Envoys and representatives on 24 October in London. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/11/2016 answer text <p>The British Government is concerned by the latest developments in Venezuela, in particular the political, economic and security challenges, which are having a serious impact on the human rights of ordinary Venezuelans. I discussed those concerns with Venezuelan Minister for Europe, Samuel Moncada, on 26 October and urged the Venezuela Government to respect the human rights of its citizens.</p><p>The United Kingdom co-signed a Joint Statement at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on 29 September, expressing international community concern over developments in Venezuela. This Joint Statement was supported by 28 other countries. We have played an active role in preparations for Venezuela's upcoming Universal Periodic Review at the Human Rights Council, submitting a statement of recommendations and posing questions to the Venezuelan Government regarding their human rights record.</p><p>Venezuela has been designated a Foreign and Commonwealth Office 'Human Rights Priority Country' for 2016/17. Friend the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge (Mr Hammond), visited Ethiopia in June 2016, he stated that he was satisfied that Mr Tsege was not being ill-treated and that he was receiving regular visits from family members in Ethiopia. Our Ambassador to Ethiopia last visited Mr Tsege on 2 August 2016. This was the eleventh consular visit to Mr Tsege. At each visit, we ask Mr Tsege about his treatment in prison and whether he has any welfare issues that he would like to raise. Where we have Mr Tsege's permission to do so, we raise any concerns or issues about his welfare and treatment with the authorities, in line with our standard consular practice. We recognise there are issues that need to be resolved with the ICC to ensure that it has the widest possible support. ICC working groups are currently considering some of the challenges in The Hague and New York. We hope that South Africa and Burundi will remain signatories to the Rome Statute and engage positively in further dialogue. We are open to discussing any of the issues or other concerns with states parties, now and at the Assembly of States Parties in November.</p><p>On 21 October, the EU High Representative made a Declaration on behalf of the European Union on the African ICC withdrawals. The matter will be discussed at the upcoming EU-South Africa Human Rights dialogue on 9 November in Brussels.
