President Kiir met with President Kikwete and other leaders assembled in Arusha, Tanzania for the intra-Sudanese People Liberation Movement (SPLM) dialogue. The Arusha communiqué was subsequently signed on 21 January. It remains vitally important that South Sudan’s leaders uphold their commitments to secure peace and form a transition government of national unity through the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) - led peace process.
