answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/09/2017 answer text <p>Boko Haram have led a brutal campaign of violence against civilians in the Lake Chad region. UK assistance is designed to help those affected, and assist Nigeria and its regional partners to tackle the threat. During their visit to Nigeria last week the Foreign Secretary and the International Development Secretary saw firsthand some of the support that the UK is providing. The conflict in the region requires a comprehensive response, tackling the threat posed by Boko Haram and the humanitarian crisis through the full range of security, political and humanitarian, and in the longer term, development work. The UK is a lead player, providing a substantial package of military, intelligence and development support to Nigeria. This includes training for the Nigerian armed forces and £5 million for the Multinational Joint Task Force, the regional force tackling Boko Haram. The UK was one of the first donors to respond to the humanitarian crisis in North East Nigeria and we have scaled up our support from £1 million in 2014 to £100 million this year. We have raised this with the Algerian government, who said that the arrests relate to breaches of laws which apply to all religions in Algeria. The Algerian constitution provides freedom of religion and we encourage them to make domestic law fully compatible with that. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/08/2017 answer text <p>The Foreign Secretary raised the issue of compensation for the victims of Qadhafi-sponsored IRA terrorism during his meeting with Prime Minister Serraj in Tripoli on 4 May 2017. He emphasised again the importance the UK places on this issue and encouraged the Libyan authorities to engage with UK victims' groups and their representatives. Prime Minister Serraj expressed sympathy with those who had suffered from the previous regime, but it was also clear from his discussion with the Foreign Secretary that the Libyan Government continues to face numerous challenges and that progress on the issue of compensation is likely to remain slow. It would appear that the group had the wrong category of visa for their trip. This is therefore a matter for the Indian authorities.</p><p>We have, however, attempted to make contact with the Head Teacher from Poynton High School, and the Member for Macclesfield (David Rutley).
