answer text
We deplore all forms of incitement, including any comments that could stir up hatred and prejudice, and are aware of Facebook posts related to this attack. The Consulate-General regularly encourages the Fatah leadership to exercise more control over the many Facebook pages associated with the organisation. We consider that the track record of President Abbas and Prime Minister Hamdallah shows their commitment to non-violence.
more like this

answer text
I have not specifically discussed the Quartet Principles as a whole with the Palestinian Authority (PA) recently. On the three issues in the principles:

- On recognition of Israel: the Palestinian Liberation Organisation recognised Israel some years ago and successive PA governments have been bound by this.

- On renunciation of violence: the Palestinian leadership renounced violence some time ago as a means of achieving their goals. We consider that the overall track record of President Abbas and the PA shows their genuine commitment to non-violence and a negotiated two-state solution. We raise instances of incitement with both the PA and continue to urge the PA leadership to do all they can to reduce tensions with Israel.

- On adherence to previous diplomatic agreements: we continue to discuss how progress can be made towards peace with both the Israeli and Palestinian leaderships.
more like this

answer text
The Government has not yet concluded that it is right to lift the restrictions on direct UK flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh. The security of British nationals is the Government's top priority. Our security experts take account of many factors in providing advice on whether it is safe to fly to certain destinations.

UK aviation security experts have worked closely with their Egyptian counterparts on the ground, sharing their expertise in establishing effective security arrangements. We continue to work in partnership in a spirit of cooperation, and are grateful for Egypt's close engagement and partnership. We look forward to achieving the return of flights once we can be assured that the necessary security environment can be sustained.
more like this

This includes the recent statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which praised Nashat Milhem as a martyr following his attack in Tel Aviv on New Year’s Day. We condemn the glorification of terrorism and all incitement to commit violence, whichever side it comes from. answer text
We absolutely condemn the glorification of terrorism and all incitement to commit violence, whichever side it comes from, and we will seek to raise this specific issue with the Palestinian Authority in the near future. Since the start of the current violence we have spoken regularly to both the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, urging them to use their influence to de-escalate the tensions. We regularly raise incitement with the Palestinian Authority, and have urged key figures to encourage calm and condemn violence. We continue to support the reinstatement of the Tripartite Committee as the appropriate channel to deal with allegations of incitement from either side.
more like this

answer text
Under United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution 2231, a UN arms embargo on Iran will remain in force for five years after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) Adoption Day, or until the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Broader Conclusion. Arms transfers will be permitted only if explicitly approved by the Security Council. Other UN measures will continue to restrict arms transfers from Iran to specific parts of the region, including UNSC resolution 1701, which prevents the supply of weapons to non-governmental forces in Lebanon, including Hezbollah. Under the nuclear deal, the EU arms embargo on Iran will continue after the UN arms embargo is lifted. Iran's role in fostering instability in the Middle East, including its ongoing support for the Assad regime, continues to be a source of serious concern. The nuclear deal has not changed our view on this. But we believe there is a possibility that if Iran takes the right paths, the deal could bring about a step-change in Iran's relations with its neighbours, and with the international community.
