To enforce this, all passing ships are requested to report any sighting of fishing vessels to Ascension Island government. The British Government funded a pilot satellite surveillance project around Ascension Island in early 2015. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/08/2014 answer text The British Government has taken a close interest in the regulatory and legal action in the US against BP following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in 2010 and has discussed this issue with the US authorities on several occasions. It remains concerned that BP, like all British companies, should receive fair and equitable treatment at the same time as dealing fairly with the consequences of the spill.
