As the Prime Minister’s former Special Envoy on Freedom of Religion and Belief, Lord (Tariq) Ahmad, said in Parliament on 25 July,

“I note the time and energy that the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China has dedicated to this issue. Officials have reviewed the evidence thoroughly. While the evidence is not incontrovertible, we take these allegations seriously and have consulted the World Health Organization and international partners. The evidence provided disturbing details about the mistreatment of Falun Gong practitioners, and raised worrying questions about China’s transplant system. We continue to monitor all available evidence.”

more like this

A number of humanitarian organisations assess that the Vučjak site is unsafe and undignified and have urged the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to relocate those based at the site urgently. Since 2018, EU funding to Bosnia and Herzegovina on migration issues has amounted to a total of €34m, including the United Kingdom contribution, and the United Kingdom provided £565,000 of bilateral funding to communities affected by migration at the start of 2019.
more like this

answer text
We have been supporting the Malaysian Government's ambitions to ratify UN instruments on human rights, reform security legislation and abolish the death penalty. The former Foreign Secretary the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt discussed our support for human rights reforms in Malaysia, including on the death penalty with his counterpart Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah during his visit to Kuala Lumpur 3-4 January.

We welcomed the Malaysian Government's announcement, in October 2018, of its plan to abolish the death penalty. The former Minister for Asia and the Pacific, the Rt Hon Mark Field MP, urged early progress during his visit to Malaysia that month.

The abolition bill has been postponed until the next sitting of the Malaysian Parliament. We have been using every opportunity to encourage Malaysia to pass it as soon as possible.

It is a longstanding policy of the British Government to oppose the death penalty, in all circumstances, as a matter of principle. The Malaysian Government is fully aware of our position and we continue to raise our objection to capital punishment at the highest levels.
