answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2017 answer text <p>​The UK has exercised its right not to opt in to the EU Council Decision authorising the opening of negotiations on an agreement between the European Union and Nigeria on readmission.</p><p>The UK recognises the responsibility countries have to accept the return of their own nationals when they have no right to remain elsewhere and to control their own borders. Our High Commission in Nigeria works closely with our EU partners on this agenda including through sharing expertise on returns arrangements. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson), published on 24 February, sets out the Government's latest assessment on developments in Hong Kong. The report makes clear the Government's view that the 'One Country, Two Systems' framework established by the Sino-British Joint Declaration continues to function well in the vast majority of areas. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2017 answer text <p>The UK contributes to EU instruments addressing human rights through our contributions to the EU budget.</p><p>The European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights has a budget of €132.75 million under Heading 4 of the EU's multi-annual financial framework 2014-2020. The Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) helps countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey make political and economic reforms. Under the IPA, €1770.2 million has been allocated for democracy and governance and €1281.40 million for rule of law assistance for the period 2014-20. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/03/2017 answer text <p>Her Majesty's Government remains firmly committed to the promotion and protection of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in all countries.</p><p>We regularly discuss issues related to FoRB with foreign governments. For example, we raise our concerns when practices and laws discriminate against people on the basis of their religion or belief. We also raise individual cases. We work to sustain consensus on the adoption and implementation of the key UN Resolutions sponsored by the European Union and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation at the UN Human Rights Council. We support projects through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's (FCO) Magna Carta Fund for Human Rights and Democracy. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/03/2017 answer text <p>The UK strongly supports the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), and we continue to work with the UN and the Department for Peacekeeping Operations to improve the capabilities of the mission to effectively carry out its mandate. As a result of our efforts on this, the UN Security Council passed resolution 2304 in August 2016, which mandated the deployment of 4000 extra troops for UNMISS as a Regional Protection Force for Juba. We continue to urge the Government of South Sudan to fulfil their commitment to accommodate this deployment, and encourage the troop contributing countries to accelerate preparations. We are also currently in the process of deploying 379 UK troops to UNMISS. We continue to urge them to make progress on this issue. Most recently, the UK Special Representative for Sudan and South Sudan raised this directly with President Kiir on 2 March.</p><p>We are currently in the process of deploying 379 UK troops to UNMISS. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/03/2017 answer text <p>Despite the signing of the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) in December 2015, the political and security situation in Libya remains fragile. A number of players continue to obstruct full implementation of the LPA. The UK remains committed to the LPA and is supportive of current efforts to amend it in order to secure support from those Libyans who have hitherto opposed it. An inclusive government which brings together Libyans from across the country is the best way to restore unity, rebuild the economy and tackle the threats posed by Daesh and illegal migration. The Government of National Accord (GNA) has made some progress, such as agreeing emergency budget measures with the Central Bank and completing operations against Daesh in Sirte. The UK and US co-hosted a meeting on Libya in London on 31 October 2016, where the Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson), met with Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Serraj.
