We regularly raise our concerns about the protection of minority communities with the Government of Pakistan. I raised our concerns about the treatment of religious minorities, including Ahmadiyya Muslims, with Kamran Michael, Pakistani Minister for Human Rights, and Barrister Zafarullah Khan, the Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Human Rights, during my visit to Pakistan in January 2017. The Foreign Secretary, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Boris Johnson), discussed religious tolerance and the importance of safeguarding the rights of all Pakistani citizens during his visit to Pakistan in November 2016. I have since spoken to the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ravanchi to express our concerns. I also raised the case during my recent visit to Iran. I have met Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe's family both in the UK and in Iran and we will continue to support them during this difficult period. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/01/2017 answer text <p>The Coalition announced the formation of the Joint Incident Assessment Team (JIAT) in May 2016 and gave further details of the composition and investigation process during a press conference on 4 August. This draft resolution called for an arms embargo and targeted sanctions against those responsible for the continued violence. We lobbied hard, both in New York and in the appropriate capitals, but disappointingly the resolution was not adopted. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/01/2017 answer text <p>Ministers and senior officials regularly raise human rights concerns with the Egyptian authorities, including the restrictions on civil society.</p><p>The Prime Minister raised the ongoing 'Foreign Funding' NGO case with President Sisi when they last met on 20 September. She stressed the importance of NGOs being able to operate in Egypt. I made a statement on the reopening of the case in March, and I and senior officials have raised it with the Egyptian authorities on several occasions.</p><p>Following the Egyptian Parliament's passing of the draft Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) Law on 29 November, I made a statement (available on the gov.uk website) on 1 December and 13 January expressing our concern with the draft law and the restrictions it will enforce on civil society. Senior officials and I have raised concerns about the NGO law with the Egyptian Government and Parliament in private on a number of occasions.
