answer text <p><del class="ministerial">I can confirm that all staff directly employed by the Department for Exiting the European Union are paid in line with the Government’s National Living Wage. All staff are based in London and are paid in line with the living wage, as defined by the Living Wage Foundation.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Department is recruiting the brightest and the best from across the civil service, the wider public sector and the private sector. The Department for Exiting the European Union now has over 650 staff. The Department continues to recruit the brightest and the best from across the civil service, the wider public sector and the private sector, in a range of professions, including the Government Economics Service (GES). The Department also coordinates the work of specialist economists from across the whole of Government on exit related policy. answer text <p>Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) staff do not report to HM Treasury, or any other department. Our staff work in close collaboration with departments across Whitehall to co-ordinate the Government’s preparations for leaving the EU.</p><p>DExEU works closely with HM Treasury as it fulfils its rule to coordinate Government preparations for EU exit, including domestic preparations in both a deal and a no deal scenario, all of the necessary legislation and preparations for the negotiations to implement the detail of the Future Framework.</p><p> </p> more like this
