answer text
Ensuring a well-functioning Gibraltar-Spain border is a key objective for the UK Government. A well-functioning border is also in the interests of the surrounding Spanish region, including the thousands of Spanish workers who cross the border every day. As the Prime Minister said in her statement to the House of Commons on 29 March, we are absolutely steadfast in our support of Gibraltar, its people and its economy.
more like this

answer text
The Prime Minister was clear in her letter to the President of the European Council that we should seek an early agreement on the rights of UK nationals in the EU and EU nationals in the UK, on a reciprocal basis. This is a priority issue for the forthcoming negotiations and, as the Prime Minister has emphasised, we will always put the interests of citizens first.

more like this

answer text
The UK Government has made clear that it intends to fully involve Gibraltar as we prepare for exit from the EU, to ensure Gibraltar’s interests are properly taken into account. The first meeting of the UK-Gibraltar Ministerial Forum on EU Exit took place on 7 December 2016, with Department for Exiting the EU and Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers taking part alongside the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. This followed a meeting the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Exiting the EU (Mr Robin Walker) chaired with the Gibraltarian Chief Minister and business and union representatives on 1 November 2016. In addition, officials continue to be in frequent contact with their Gibraltarian counterparts. The Government is committed to continued close working with the Government of Gibraltar.

more like this
