answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2017 answer text <p>The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) provides a range of centralised functions across a number of EU chemicals regimes, including facilitating collective decisions amongst EU Member States. Under the EU REACH Regulation, it manages data about chemicals on the EU market. Chemicals manufactured or imported in quantities above 1 tonne a year must be registered with ECHA to access the single market.</p><p>The UK’s current involvement with ECHA comes as part of our membership of EU. ECHA is funded mainly through a combination of industry fees for a variety of the services it provides and direct EU funding. The higher the income generated from fees, the lower the EU budget subsidy. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/07/2017 answer text <p>Enforcement undertakings have only been available for the main water pollution offences in England under the Environmental Permitting Regulations (2010) since April 2015, although they have been used on a few occasions since 2011 under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act (1975).</p><p> </p><p>Enforcement undertakings provide a useful tool to be used, alongside other enforcement options such as prosecution and formal caution, to mitigate the impact of pollution and minimise the risk of similar incidents reoccurring. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2017 answer text <p>Section 59 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 bans bulls of seven recognised dairy breeds (Ayrshire, British Friesian, British Holstein, Dairy Shorthorn, Guernsey, Jersey and Kerry) that are over the age of ten months, in all circumstances, from being at large in fields crossed by public rights of way.</p><p>Bulls of all other breeds (again over the age of ten months) are also banned from fields crossed by public rights of way unless accompanied by cows or heifers. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2017 answer text <p>The membership of the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Scheme (SAWS) Transition Working Group comprises agricultural and horticultural growers, industry bodies, operators of the former SAWS scheme, labour providers and relevant government departments and bodies. Additional participants are invited to attend meetings according to the issues on the agenda. A note of the meeting is circulated to attendees but is not currently published.</p><p>The SAWS Transition Working Group discussed the supply of seasonal labour working in the UK agricultural industry for the 2017 season at its last meeting in March this year. The study identified an overall decline in wild bee diversity over the last 50 years. We are taking action to enhance the evidence base for future assessments. In collaboration with research institutes and volunteer organisations we have established a pollinator monitoring and research partnership to collect new data and improve our understanding of the status of pollinators and pollination services in the UK. Based on the work of this partnership, we will plan shortly to publish updated trend estimates for a range of bees and hoverflies in our biodiversity indicators.</p><p> </p><p>We have also introduced a new Pollinator and Wildlife Package to our Countryside Stewardship Scheme in England and are working with farmers, business and conservation organisations to provide pollinator habitat on farmland, in urban areas and in gardens in order to boost pollinator populations.</p> answering member printed Lord Gardiner of Kimble question first answered 24/07/2017 10:43:08 answering member 4161 label Biography information for Lord Gardiner of Kimble
