The Green Recovery Challenge Fund is estimated to deliver 0.6mha of habitat creation and restoration within &amp; outside SSSIs. We have also set a target to raise at least £500 million in private finance to support nature’s recovery every year by 2027 in England, rising to more than £1 billion by 2030. This includes investment in protected sites and other landscape-scale action through delivery of the Nature Recovery Network.</p><p> </p><p>Across the Countryside Stewardship scheme, there are a range of actions to create, manage and restore habitats which are beneficial to a broad range of species including actions like establishing nectar flower mixes, building beetle banks, and managing species-rich grassland. This includes those relating to the preparation of Local Nature Recovery Strategies.</p><p> </p><p>Defra is currently working through spending plans for the next three years. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/07/2021 answer text <p>The National Lottery Heritage Fund provides grants through its National Lottery Grants for Heritage, which can support communities to protect, share and enjoy their local natural environment. Since 1994, the Fund has invested more than £1.5bn into projects focused on England’s natural heritage.</p><p> </p><p>Defra’s Countryside Stewardship scheme provides financial incentives for farmers, woodland owners, foresters and land managers to look after and improve the environment through agricultural or woodland land management. It also provides funding for educational access, allowing groups such as school pupils to visit farms to learn, understand and engage with farming and the environment. Among agreement holders in the scheme are a number of charities and organisations who own and manage nature reserves for wildlife.</p><p> </p><p>Defra’s £80m Green Recovery Challenge Fund has kick-started a pipeline of nature-based projects to restore nature, tackle climate change and connect people with the natural environment. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/01/2021 answer text <p>My department constantly keeps under review the financial health of Defra-related sectors, including in relation to how sectors are faring in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic.</p><p>In December 2020, the Government announced the successful applicants to round 1 of the Green Recovery Challenge Fund, which brought forward up to £40 million for environmental charities and their partners to kick-start a pipeline of nature-based projects while creating and retaining jobs in the sector. My officials are continuing to work with counterparts in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and to engage stakeholders to refine our estimates and work towards a more comprehensive assessment of resources required to ensure delivery to a high standard. They do this through conservation of the natural environment; engaging people in the natural world; and providing access to our beautiful landscapes and coastlines.</p><p>As we rebuild our economy in response to the coronavirus pandemic, we must continue to shape an economy and society that are cleaner, greener and more resilient. This Government remains committed to being a world leader on tackling the environmental crises we face. Our recently launched £40 million Green Recovery Challenge Fund will support up to 2000 jobs and lead to the creation of up to 3000 more in environmental space.</p><p>We welcome the range of proposals that have been shared by groups including environmental organisations to deliver a green recovery.
