answer text <p>I would like to assure you that the Ministry of Defence is committed to ensuring that both the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and War Pension Scheme deliver for those who make a claim.</p><p> </p><p>The Veterans Welfare Service has Welfare Managers throughout the UK and one of its specific roles is to support veterans with the completion of claims for both the Schemes.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, as part of the £40 million transformation project, work is being undertaken to improve the customer experience and make the process easier for veterans to submit their claims.</p> more like this

answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Department’s policy is that UK military aircraft do not enter the sovereign airspace of Ireland for operational purposes, without the express prior agreement of the Irish Government. Questions on sovereign airspace access and associated regulations are for individual nations to answer, therefore any questions on Irish airspace should be directed to the Irish government.</del><ins class="ministerial">UK Military aircraft do not enter the sovereign airspace of Ireland for operational purposes, without the express prior agreement of the Irish Government. answer text <p>The recent incident in the Shetlands was assessed to have been caused by fishing. Accidental breakage of subsea communications cables is not uncommon, particularly through trawling and other seabed-disturbing activities, and mechanisms to repair them are well tested.</p><p> </p><p>Overall Governmental responsibility for subsea power and telecommunications cables lies with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, respectively.</p><p> </p><p>Subsea internet cables are specifically considered in the National Risk Assessment which is kept under review. The UK Government, with the support of Defence, continuously reviews the broad range of national security threats including threats and hazards to subsea communication cables.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Service personnel who were present at the UK nuclear weapon tests may have had blood samples taken throughout their career. Any records taken either before, during or after participation at the UK nuclear weapon tests would be held in individual military medical records in the Government's archives.</p><p>These medical records are unlikely to be collated in a form related to samples or incidences, and to ascertain what blood and urine tests may have been undertaken by service personnel would require the individual medical record of each of the personnel present at the UK nuclear tests to be located and reviewed. These records are not held centrally and to provide the information could only be done at disproportionate cost.</p><p>The Atomic Weapons Establishment holds copies of the results of urine radioactivity measurements and blood tests for a small number of individuals where these were included in scientific documentation on the nuclear weapons trials.</p> more like this
