answer text
The number of carriers deployed in response to a national emergency will very much depend on the situation at the time. The level of response would be determined by an operational assessment. The QEC long-term carrier policy and reason for bringing two carriers into service is to ensure that there will always be at least one carrier available, either at sea or in port, at very high readiness to deploy.
more like this

answer text
The current agreed F35-B Lightning procurement profile will see the UK reach 48 aircraft in Quarter four 2025. This delivery schedule has been developed to support the F35-B Lightning force generation build profile and the Carrier Enabled Power Projection (CEPP) milestone requirements. In December 2023, when Full Operational Capability (FOC) Carrier Strike is scheduled to be declared, the UK F35-B Lightning Force will have a total of 37 F35-B Lightning aircraft which will support two front line squadrons and the Operational Conversion Unit. The full complement, of 48 aircraft, will be available when the CEPP FOC milestone is reached in 2026. These figures include the three 17 Squadron UK F35-B Lightning aircraft base at Edwards Air Force Base in California, to conduct Test and Evaluation.

more like this

answer text
Yes, there is a significant difference between the terms described.

Carrier Enabled Power Projection (CEPP) consists of three core programme elements; Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers, Lightning II aircraft and the CROWSNEST radar system. These combine to exploit the key attributes of maritime manoeuvre and air power to deliver action in all environments. The capability that CEPP provides is primarily Carrier Strike but is also able to support littoral and discrete operations, provide humanitarian assistance and conduct defence diplomacy. The Carrier Strike Group consists of the three core CEPP programmes combined (as appropriate according to tasking) with destroyers, frigates, submarines, additional rotary wing aviation and support vessels.
more like this
