answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/12/2015 answer text <br /><p>Government believes that businesses benefit from a rich and wide talent pool including people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds.</p><p>Government is fully supportive of the private led Diversity initiative chaired by Sir John Parker who are currently considering this issue. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/12/2015 answer text <p>The Bank of England has made an important contribution to the debate about how technological developments will shape work and the labour market.</p><br /><p>While assessments often focus on the jobs at risk from technological change, the wider effects of such changes can also be to create jobs. The UK economy has adapted well to previous changes related to automation and globalisation, with over 2.5 million people moving between jobs each year, and it is now experiencing record rates (73.7%) and levels (31.2 million) of employment.</p><br /><p>The Government is taking action to provide individuals with the skills that will help prepare them for changes to the labour market. Activities include the new school computing curriculum, developing new apprenticeship standards, growing the apprenticeships programme and recently announcing the Institute for Coding.​​</p><br /><p>Furthermore, the Government’s Horizon Scanning Programme Team is working with officials across departments to explore the implications for policy – including employment – of automation. The Research Councils and National Academies share this commitment.</p><br /><p>Government is working with its partner organisations to promote equality across all research disciplines and has established a Diversity Steering Group to guide this work.</p><br /><p>To improve the diversity of research fellowship awards, the National Academies are working to encourage more applications from under-represented groups and to guard against discrimination in the selection process. There are now 30 Growth Hubs across England that are bringing together local and national business support so that people can find the help they need quickly and easily. This includes referring on to UK Trade &amp; Investment those businesses who want help and advice on how to export</p><br /><p>UK Trade and Investment provides a range of support to help companies develop their capacity to export; that includes elements such as helping companies devise an export strategy, guide them on researching and selecting markets, and addressing language and culture barriers. On 26 October the Prime Minister announced that agreement to implement name-blind applications had been reached with a range of major public and private sector graduate employers. The agreement covers some of the largest graduate employers, including the NHS, Teach First , HSBC, Deloitte, Virgin Money, KPMG, BBC, Learn direct and local Government and the Civil Service. We are working with large and small businesses to encourage employers, colleges and schools to work together to increase the number of apprenticeships.</p><br /><p>Over 1300 employers - including in the construction sector - are currently involved in designing new apprenticeship standards.
