answer text <p>The Energy Bill Support Scheme Alternative Funding (EBSS AF) will provide £400 support to those households that do not have a direct relationship with a domestic electricity supplier in England, Scotland, and Wales, with the application portal due to open by 27 February. However, in cases where a park home site manager has a domestic energy contract, they will already be receiving EBSS support automatically, and this support needs to be passed on to the end user in a just and reasonable way.</p> more like this

This includes those who do not have a domestic electricity meter or a direct relationship with an energy supplier.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is working to make the support available to applicants as soon as possible and is working with a range of organisations, such as local authorities, Devolved Administrations and across the UK Government, to finalise the details of the Alternative Funding and have the process up and running for applications this winter.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Eligibility for EBSS payment is determined on the basis of a Domestic Customer who is party to a Domestic Supply Contract or a Deemed Contract for electricity supply which relates to a Domestic Premises. Only one Domestic Customer per Domestic Supply Contract or Deemed Contract per Domestic Premises is considered an eligible customer. There may be highly limited supply meters and separate contracts with domestic electricity suppliers, however, these circumstances were considered so rare as to not requiring specific consideration.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government estimates around 545,000 second homes in Great Britain, which make up around 2% of the UK’s housing stock. If all of these homes were eligible for the Energy Bills Support Scheme grant, this could contribute a maximum estimate of £218million towards the cost of the scheme.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is prioritising issuing the money to 29 million households by winter 2022. Accurately identifying second homeowners would delay the delivery of the scheme. Additionally, some second homes will be held in circumstances where the recipient may need cost of living support, such as providing a home for an elderly or disabled relative.</p> more like this
