ONS plans to release data for 2019 in spring 2021.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has set out plans at Spending Review to cement the UK’s status as a global leader in science and innovation by investing £14.6 billion in R&amp;D in 2021/22.</p><p> </p><p>Private investment is a major part of UK R&amp;D spend and leveraging this investment will be key to achieving the 2.4% target. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/12/2020 answer text <p>The Government has set out plans at Spending Review to cement the UK’s status as a global leader in science and innovation by investing £14.6 billion in R&amp;D in 2021/22. This investment supports our commitments set out in the R&amp;D Roadmap and helps consolidate our position as a science superpower as we build towards UK R&amp;D investment of 2.4% of GDP by 2027.</p><p> </p><p>Leveraging investment from the private sector that we will reach the target. By increasing public investment in R&amp;D, we will attract further private sector investment. On average, £1 of public investment in R&amp;D eventually leverages around £2 of additional private sector investment.</p><p> </p><p>The UK already has world-class science and research and is ranked as one of the most innovative countries in the world, investing 1.7% of GDP in 2018. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/12/2020 answer text <p>The Green Homes Grant Voucher scheme is open to applications from landlords to install energy efficiency and clean heat measures in their rented properties. To be eligible for the scheme, private rented properties in scope of the Domestic Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) Regulations must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating E or above, or hold a valid exemption. As of 07 December, 11.7% of all applications received for the Voucher scheme have been from landlords.</p><p> </p><p>The £500 million Local Authority Delivery (LAD) element of the scheme will be delivered via Local Authorities and Local Energy Hubs, who have a comprehensive understanding of their local communities and as part of delivery of the scheme are undertaking extensive property assessments and householder engagement work. Together, they will identify eligible low energy efficiency properties (rated EPC D or below) and low-income households including those living in the worst quality off-gas grid homes. Under LAD, Local Authorities may upgrade their own housing stock as landlords or leaseholders and that of Social Housing providers they are partnering with, and also fund improvements to privately owned rental properties.</p><p> </p><p>Furthermore, the Department is currently consulting on raising the minimum energy efficiency standards for privately rented homes in England and Wales to EPC band C. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/12/2020 answer text <p>The Government has introduced a number of financial support mechanisms to support households who may be under greater financial pressure due to Covid-19.</p><p> </p><p>On top of the support to household incomes, including uplift to Universal Credit and the wage support schemes, the £2 billion Green Homes Grant will support domestic energy efficiency measures, and the Energy Company Obligation scheme provides around £640 million per year to help fuel poor and low income households stay warm while reducing their energy bills.</p><p> </p><p>We also successfully negotiated an agreement with energy suppliers to support customers impacted by COVID-19.
