answer text <p>In respect of discussions within Government, by convention, whether the Law Officers have been asked to provide advice, and the contents of any such advice, is not disclosed outside of Government. This protects the Law Officers’ ability as chief legal advisers to the Government to give full and frank legal advice.</p><p>In respect of discussions between the then Attorney Generals and officials and those outside of Government, I can confirm that we have no record of any discussions in relation to the 1984 Cammell Laird shipyard dispute between 1997 and 2007.</p> more like this

Experienced local CPS prosecutors have been allocated in the Magistrates’ and Crown Court teams to deal with submissions for charging decisions when they are received from the police. answer text <p>The Law Officers are responsible fot eht oversight of the Law Officers' departments, namely the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), the Serious Fraud Office (SFO), His Majesty's Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate (HMCPSI) and the Government Legal Department (GLD), as well as the Attorney General's Office.</p><p>In the case of the CPS and the SFO, the relationship with those bodies is provided for in statute and is described as &quot;superintendence&quot;, and both are underpinned by Framework Agreements published on Gov.uk. Oversight of the GLD is underpinned by a Framework Agreement, and by a protocol in the case of HMCPSI.</p><p>The Treasury Solicitor is the Permanent Secretary of the GLD and the GLD's own guidance in respect of undertakings is to &quot;avoid giving undertakings unless strictly necessary&quot;, and that if it is absolutely necessary to give an undertaking, GLD lawyers should do so only in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority's Code of Conduct 2011.</p>

They were purchased for recently recruited staff. 5 of the laptops were allocated to staff as replacements for existing hardware that was faulty and beyond repair. The cost to the SFO at that time was approximately £83,000.</p><p>The associated Employment Appeal Tribunal concluded in July 2022. The proceedings have been remitted to the Employment Tribunal, a date is yet to be confirmed, and costs will be finalised once this has concluded.</p> more like this

The ENRC have brought two civil actions for alleged misfeasance against the SFO. This matter remains ongoing and as such the final costs are not yet determined.</p><p> </p><p>The SFO does not disclose the costs associated with its cases as this risks prejudicing the administration of justice and is against the public interest.
