For ESA a Decision Assurance Call was introduced into the process to collect any additional evidence from claimants and signpost to other benefits where it is likely a fit for work decision will be made. This included data which showed that on average it took 13 days to clear an ESA MR request.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/mandatory-reconsiderations-of-dwp-benefit-decisions-data-to-october-2014" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/mandatory-reconsiderations-of-dwp-benefit-decisions-data-to-october-2014</a></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>DWP plans to incorporate information on MR into existing regular statistical publications, including information on clearance times. However, before a decision to publish is made DWP statisticians need to ensure that the data is accurate and fit for purpose.
