In March-May 2024 (the latest month for which figures are available) the UK economic inactivity level was 9.383 million.</p><p> </p><p>The headline UK economic inactivity rate was 23.4% in March-May 2010 (this is also estimated on a 16-64 basis). In March-May 2024 (the latest month for which figures are available) the UK economic inactivity rate was 22.1%.</p><p> </p><p>The UK has experienced a rise in economic inactivity since the pandemic.
