The Department for Transport will provide a loan of up to £1.3 billion to the Greater London Authority (GLA). The GLA intend to repay this loan via London’s Business Rate Supplement (BRS) and from the Mayoral Community Infrastructure Levy (MCIL).

As the Government is providing a loan to the GLA, this is being treated as a long-term reprofiling of DfT’s budget. The Devolved Administrations (DAs) have been offered Barnett consequentials of the DfT reprofile and it is up to individual DAs if they take up this offer.
more like this

star this property answer text
Leaving the EU with a deal remains the Government’s top priority. That has not changed. We are working closely with the devolved administrations to ensure that we build a stronger and fairer economy for the future, with 193,000 more people in employment in Wales since 2010. At the most recent Budget, the Welsh Government benefitted from a £550 million boost to its budget, a real terms increase up to 2020. The government is investing over £735m in city and growth deals. The government is also supporting the Welsh economy by cutting corporation tax to 17% in 2020, abolishing tolls on the Severn Crossings and investing in Wales’s infrastructure. This will support the Welsh economy to grow and create jobs, supporting hard-working people with greater prospects and living standards as we leave the EU.

more like this

star this property answer text
Maintaining price stability is the primary objective, set out in law, of the independent Monetary Policy Committee. As such, the Government does not comment on the conduct of monetary policy. This objective is defined as a symmetric inflation target of 2%, as measured by the twelve month increase in the Consumer Prices Index. Subject to this, its secondary objective is to support the economic policy of the Government, including its objectives for growth and employment.

At their February meeting, the MPC reemphasised that “the monetary policy response to Brexit, whatever form it takes, will not be automatic and could be in either direction”, adding that “the Committee will always act to achieve the 2% inflation target.”
more like this

The devolved administrations received their full share of additional funding in devolved areas through the Barnett Formula, with the Welsh Government allocated £31.1m. star this property answer text
We are one of the most open economies in the world through trade and financial channels. The U.K. isn't immune to weakness in the euro area and instability in global markets, so we face a critical moment for our economy. Despite these headwinds Britain’s long-term economic plan is working, boosting economic security for Britain’s hardworking people. The economy is growing, the deficit is falling and there are record levels of people in work. Unemployment has fallen over the last year in every region of the UK and compared to the same period a year ago, the UK was the fastest growing major advanced economy (G7) in the first half of the year. But the job is not done and the biggest risk now to the recovery would be abandoning the plan that is delivering a brighter economic future.

more like this
