star this property answer text <p>The Government will bring forward proposals for a third meaningful vote as soon as possible and, if it is passed, an extension to 22 May will provide the time to pass the necessary legislation. If Parliament does not agree a deal this week, the EU has agreed to extend Article 50 until 12 April.</p><p>If Article 50 were to be extended for two years, as an EU Member State we would continue to have rights and obligations until exit.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The EU annually publish a financial report, which details the levels of revenue and expenditure, received and executed by the EU, relative to Member States. Between 2008 and 2017, the UK has contributed €148 billion to the annual EU budget, and received €68 billion in receipts to both the public and private sector.</p><p>Additionally, HM Treasury produce an annual European Finances Statement which details the UK’s contribution to the EU over the past year. star this property answer text <p>The UK and the EU reached an agreement in principle, in December 2017, on the financial settlement for the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. This was set out in the Joint Report on progress during Phase 1 of the negotiations. These principles will become legally binding through a Withdrawal Agreement as set out in the Government’s White Paper on legislating for the Withdrawal Agreement, published in July this year.</p><p> </p><p>Post-exit, decisions on spending will be made based on domestic priorities, considering the economic environment, the fiscal position and the negotiated outcome.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Office for Budget Responsibility’s March 2017 forecast for the UK’s gross contribution in 2018-19 was £16.0 billion. They will update the forecast in November 2017. The Office for Budget Responsibility does not provide a forecast for net UK contributions to EU budgets; they do provide a forecast of funds to be received by UK government bodies to administer (£5.6bn in 2018-19 in the March 2017 forecast) although this does not include receipts directly received by the private sector from the EU.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The European Court of Auditors prepares an annual audit report on the EU Budget which is published each year in November in relation to the previous EU financial year, running from January to December. Private sector receipts may, however, be estimated by subtracting the OBR’s estimates for receipts to the UK public sector from total UK receipts published by the EU Commission. For all years up to 2013, this estimate has been detailed in the Technical Annex of HM Treasury’s European Finances White Paper, as shown in the table below. The below figure for 2014 can be estimated using the same methodology as in the White Paper.</p><br /><p>The OBR do not publish a forecast of private sector receipts.
