star this property answer text <p>The Department is actively looking at a future Southern Rail Link to Heathrow and this scheme will be considered alongside other national priorities through the planning process for the next control period.</p><p> </p><p>In May we launched a formal Market Sounding for a Southern Rail Link to Heathrow and results of this are expected to be published later this year. The outcome of this engagement will provide further clarity on whether to and, if so, how this scheme will be progressed and funded.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for Transport is providing £6.2 billion to local highway authorities in England, outside London, from 2015 to 2021 to enable repairs to be made to all highway infrastructure assets maintainable at public expense. The funding includes a £296 million Pothole Action Fund. Highways England are also spending £400 million per annum for renewal of the road surfaces for which they are responsible.</p> more like this

Highways England are making good progress delivering the schemes set out in the first Road Investment Strategy. star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed investment of more than £6 billion to highways maintenance between 2015 and 2021. This funding includes an action fund to help combat potholes totalling £296 million between 2016 and 2021. The Department published its latest statistics on road conditions in England in January 2018, which showed that at that time local classified roads had been improving overall, with fewer local roads to be considered for maintenance. The Department recognises, however, that the severe frosts of 2018 are likely to have affected local road quality.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Bus Services Act 2017 provides the tools that local authorities need to improve local bus services. Bus Open Data powers in the Act will require bus operators in England to open up information about routes, timetables, fares and tickets in real time for passengers by 2020. These improvements aim to improve journey planning and help passengers secure best value tickets.</p><p> </p><p>We are working with interested local authorities to determine which of the powers provided are best able to support bus networks in their areas.</p> more like this

This may include impounding.</p><p> </p><p>For traffic offences subject to civil enforcement, persistent evaders found in contravention may have their vehicles immobilised or removed.
