answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/05/2019 answer text <p>In 2018 Office for Low Emission Vehicle Ministers wrote to Local Authority leaders encouraging them to support the uptake of electric vehicles and apply to the On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme. This scheme provides grant funding to Local Authorities to install chargepoints at on-street locations for residents that lack off-street parking. Ministers also announced a further £4.5m for the scheme (£2m for 18/19 and £2.5m for 19/20). In addition, OLEV and the Energy Savings Trust have hosted a series of on-street charging workshops providing over 200 Local Authorities with more information on the scheme. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/05/2019 answer text <p>No specific assessment has been made of the performance of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) following the transfer of vehicle registration and licensing services from the Driver Vehicle Agency to the DVLA.</p><p>The objective of centralisation was to ensure customers in Northern Ireland had access to the same services that were already available in GB. This includes providing customers in Northern Ireland with the facility to license their vehicles online or by telephone, as well as other online vehicle registration services.</p><p>This has now been achieved. It is for individual local transport authorities in those areas to determine what powers in the Bus Services Act 2017 are used to address bus safety issues. The freight operating companies will be able to apply for these additional paths in accordance with normal railway industry processes. The freight operators are independent commercial companies and the types of cargo, the tonnages and the routes will depend upon the demand that exists from their customers at that time. Building on that success the Government introduced changes to the RTFO last year which will almost double the use of renewable fuels from 2018 to 2020, and set targets out to 2032 providing industry with long term certainty.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, as part of a fifteen year strategy for low carbon fuels the Government extended eligibility for rewards under the RTFO to aviation fuels last year, and is making available up to £20 million of matched capital funding to projects that will produce low carbon waste-based fuels to be used in aeroplanes and lorries through the Future Fuels for Flight and Freight Competition.
