<p>We have regular conversations with Heathrow about how it can improve the sustainability
of the airport, including its support for electric vehicles, but have not discussed
its chargepoint pricing model.</p><p> </p><p>Pricing is a matter for chargepoint network
operators, but we are clear that we do not want to see prohibitive pricing of public
chargepoints become a barrier to the uptake of electric vehicles. We want to see a
self-sustaining electric vehicle chargepoint network that is affordable, reliable
and accessible and will continue to monitor this as the market develops.</p><p> </p><p>The
Automated and Electric Vehicles Act provides the Government with powers to require
the installation of chargepoints at large fuel retailers and motorway services areas,
if needed, and to set chargepoint maintenance and reliability standards. We will consider
intervening using these powers if the market fails to deliver improvements.</p><p>
