answer text <p>The Government has frozen regulated rail fares in line with inflation for the seventh year in a row.</p><p> </p><p>The future introduction of HS2 will help improve the quality of rail travel across Coventry and the West Midlands, but there are initiatives that are making a real difference now:</p><p> </p><ul><li><p>In May 2019, West Midlands Trains (WMT) introduced through services and longer trains between Leamington and Nuneaton via Coventry.</p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>WMT is investing £700million to introduce 180 brand new carriages and add 20,000 more peak hour seats into Birmingham in the next couple of years.</p><p> </p></li><li><p>Subject to the approval of Avanti’s proposal by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), Walsall will receive its first direct Intercity West Coast services to London in 2021, while Coventry and the West Midlands are due to benefit from additional services on weekends from 2021, and earlier weekday morning services from December 2022.</p></li></ul><p> </p><ul><li><p>We are investing to provide additional carriages to increase capacity on CrossCountry (XC) services at Coventry and across the West Midlands from 2021.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

answer text <p>The Department has provided funding to assist the purchase of low emission buses. Funding to date has been technology neutral, including, the ultra-low emission bus scheme (ULEBS) and the low emission bus scheme (LEBS). These provided successful bidders with £43,517,720 which was used to purchase 341 fully electric buses.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to this, the Department is currently considering its response to expressions of interest in a £50 million All-Electric Bus Town competition.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Independent Assessor of Plant Material role is undertaken through Aecom Infrastructure and Environment Limited. There are a number of qualified individuals that support that contract. The contract was awarded following a competitive tender process and for a period of two years from 23<sup>rd</sup> January 2017. The Contract has since been extended until 31<sup>st</sup> March 2021. The reports are not published, as their intent is to help provide an independent view of plant quality to help ensure that planting is successful, and are not designed to be a public record of the status of the planting that is taking place.</p> more like this

answer text <p>HS2 Ltd’s live reporting over the past 5 years has recorded 93 possible breaches of Wildlife legislation, and 307 possible breaches of Environmental Protection legislation. In the financial year 2016-17 the actual saving was £8.5 million. answer text <p>Officials in the Department for Transport are working closely with operators to ensure the data we request will be robust, proportionate and feasible to collect.</p><p> </p><p>When deciding whether to grant permission to start a trial, a key consideration of the Department will be how trials meet our wider public policy expectations (i.e. data sharing expectations and other public policy benefits expected from the trials).</p><p> </p><p>If, once a trial has started, a provider was found not to be meeting those expectations (i.e. not sharing the expected data), the Department could take that into account in deciding whether to revoke permission for the trial.</p><p> </p><p>The details of the data to be shared and the process for doing so will be set out in data sharing agreements between the Department and e-scooter providers, and with local authorities where required.</p> more like this
