star this property answer text <p>Changes to bus services are notified to the Traffic Commissioners.</p><p>The Traffic Commissioners Annual Report for 2018-19 is due to be published in the Autumn. The latest published data from the Traffic Commissioners with regards the number of cancelled registrations can be found:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/traffic-commissioners-annual-report-2017-to-2018" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/traffic-commissioners-annual-report-2017-to-2018</a></p><p>The numbers of cancelled registrations will not be the same as the number of cessations of bus services: a registration that is cancelled may be complemented by a new service introduction that is an exact match or a slight variation to the one which has been cancelled.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In March the Department clarified the scope of two exemptions to the EU Regulation on operator licensing in guidance and enacted a new additional exemption; so that community transport operators can carry on taking people to the shops, work, school, hospital and the doctor.</p><p> </p><p>The definitive view of what the non-commercial exemption means will be a matter for the High Court. star this property answer text <p>The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has commissioned a study to review the risks presented to and from shipping within the UK Exclusive Economic Zone and to assess the availability and adequacy of emergency towage arrangements. An analysis of Hazard Contact time and Intercept time is integral to this study.</p><p> </p><p>The study is being undertaken by Fraser-Nash Consultancy Ltd, and the final report will be delivered to the MCA later this month. star this property answer text <p>Disability awareness and equality training can provide taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) drivers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to give disabled passengers the assistance they need. I encourage all licensing authorities to use their existing powers to require drivers to undertake it in advance of its inclusion in national minimum standards.</p><p> </p><p>As stated in the Government response to the report by the Chair of the Task and Finish Group on Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Licensing, we will bring forward legislation when Parliamentary time allows.</p><p> </p> more like this

The option selection process is finished and Network Rail will shortly start design works. star this property answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for managing their roads, including making public space accessible. The Department provides good practice guidance in 'Inclusive Mobility' on access to pedestrian and transport infrastructure. Section 3 relates to access to footways, footpaths and pedestrian areas. ‘Inclusive Mobility’ is available at:</p><p> </p><p>www.gov.uk/government/publications/inclusive-mobility</p><p> </p><p>The Department is in the process of updating ‘Inclusive Mobility’, and has research underway to inform this. The research is due to conclude by the end of this year, and the updates to the guidance will follow at a later date. Research into inclusive street design, a collaborative project with the Scottish Government and Transport Scotland, is also underway. We await the results of this research next year with updates to guidance to follow at a later date.</p><p> </p><p>The control of advertising, including the use of A-boards in public spaces, is a matter for my colleagues in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.</p><p> </p>
