The Department for Transport has not carried out an assessment of the adequacy of pay increases for each level of staff in Highways England over the period since its establishment.</p><p> </p><p>Responsibility for setting pay levels within Highways England sits with the Company, overseen by its Remuneration Committee. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/06/2020 answer text <p>Most professional lorry and bus drivers must complete 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to maintain their Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification. This is evidenced by a Driver CPC card (sometimes called a ‘driver qualification card’ or ‘DQC’).</p><p> </p><p>Periodic training is available remotely from commercial providers, via online video platforms. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency encourages drivers to continue to undertake training wherever possible, but not as an activity that needs extra travel and only in compliance with general government advice.</p><p> </p><p>The validity of DQCs with expiry dates from 1 February 2020 to 31 August 2020 have been extended by 7 months.</p><p>Drivers will not be issued with a new card to reflect the new expiry date, and must continue to carry their DQC.</p><p> </p><p>Drivers who have a DQC that has an expiry date from 1 September 2020 must not drive until it is renewed.</p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Redditch answering member printed Rachel Maclean question first answered 09/06/2020 15:46:11 answering member 4668 label Biography information for Rachel Maclean

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/06/2021 answer text <p>The safety and welfare of Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) staff is of paramount importance as it has been throughout the pandemic. Extensive measures are in place to support the wellbeing of staff and information on the services available to staff is regularly communicated.</p><p>The DVLA’s online services remain available and are the quickest and easiest way to transact. Motorists are strongly advised to use these channels where possible. Paper applications are taking longer to process because of reduced numbers of staff on site.
