These include offering overtime and annual leave buy back to examiners, asking all those qualified to conduct tests, but who do not do so as part of their current day job, to return to conducting tests, and conducting out of hours testing (such as on public holidays). The DVSA has also started a recruitment campaign to increase the number of examiners. The aim is to increase testing capacity and reduce the backlog as quickly as possible, whilst maintaining a COVID-secure service for customers and examiners.</p><p> </p><p>As at 10 May 2021, the average waiting time for a practical driving test is (a) England 13.4 weeks, (b) Herefordshire (Hereford driving test centre) 15 weeks, (c) North Herefordshire (Ludlow driving test centre) 14 weeks.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The DVSA is currently recruiting up to 300 new driving examiners. The Government sponsored study into improving connectivity to Leeds Bradford International Airport used an estimate provided by Leeds City Council of £38m in 2012 prices.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Aviation Policy Framework published in March 2013 makes clear that developers should pay the costs of upgrading transport links where there is a need to cope with increased passenger numbers, but that a public funding contribution will be considered if the scheme has a wider range of beneficiaries. The relevant local authorities would therefore be responsible for assembling a funding package for a link road, in partnership with developers and other local stakeholders. Local Growth Funding could be used to provide a public sector contribution, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority is being provided with a contribution of up to £781m towards the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund between 2015/15 and 2034/35. In the last 3 months, National Highways (NH) has carried out repairs and addressed defects on the A1(M) southbound approach to junction 7.</p><p> </p><p>National Highways has a comprehensive road inspection and maintenance programme to maintain safe roads and to reduce the potential for potholes and other surface defects.</p><p> </p><p>Further work will be done between 12 and 16 February. This project commenced in January 2019 and over 28,000 learner and novice drivers were recruited. This project, the progress of which has been delayed by Covid, includes a telematics trial. The Government takes a range of factors into account when deciding which countries to add or remove from the Travel Corridor list. These include an estimate of the proportion of the population that is currently infectious in each country, virus incidence rates, trends and rates of change, transmission status and international epidemic intelligence, information on a country’s testing capacity, testing regime and test positivity rate, an assessment of the quality of the data available, the effectiveness of measures being deployed by a country and the volume of travel between the UK and that country. ​The Government keeps the list of travel corridors under constant review. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/09/2015 answer text <p>Network Rail has paused a small number of schemes where it makes sense to do so to avoid potentially abortive costs or planning applications, particularly where the cost estimate has increased significantly as in the case of Ely to Soham where work has identified that this project is far more complex than anticipated and so the estimated cost has more than trebled.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Ely to Soham double tracking work is one of a number of schemes which are needed to increase the number of freight trains which can run on the Felixstowe to Nuneaton route and a lot has been completed already.
