answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/11/2023 answer text <p>The Fresh Start Agreement in 2015 set out a commitment by the UK Government to release up to £500m over ten years of new capital funding to support shared and integrated education and housing. This funding is subject to individual projects being agreed between the Northern Ireland Executive and the UK Government.</p><p> </p><p>HM Treasury’s Block Grant Transparency confirms that over £196 million in Fresh Start Agreement (shared education and housing) funding has been transferred to the Northern Ireland Executive up to Mains 2023-24, with around £304 million remaining. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/09/2021 answer text <p>The Independent Review of Education was an important commitment made in the New Decade, New Approach Agreement, to be taken forward by the Northern Ireland Executive. It presents a real opportunity to ensure that Northern Ireland’s education system works for all children and young people, and helps promote integration and reconciliation at its core.</p><p> </p><p>The Government welcomes the establishment of the Review, the publication of its Terms of Reference and the completion of the recruitment process for the Panel. We hope this progress will continue and look forward to the Panel’s findings, which will be for the Northern Ireland Executive to consider and take forward.</p><p> </p><p>The Government firmly believes that greater integration within Northern Ireland’s education system is an essential aspect of the reconciliation process in Northern Ireland. That is why, as part of the Stormont House and Fresh Start Agreements, the Government committed to providing up to £500 million of funding to support shared and integrated education projects. The Government has committed to publishing a report on or before 4 September 2019 on higher education provision in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>As education is devolved these matters are of course for an incoming NI Executive to consider. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/11/2015 answer text <p>The Government communicates with the Northern Ireland Executive frequently on a wide range of issues.</p><p>As part of ‘<em>Building a Prosperous and United Community’, </em>the ‘economic pact’, the Government committed to provide £100 million of additional borrowing to help support specific shared housing and education projects.</p><p>Through the Stormont House Agreement the Government committed to make substantial capital funding available, up to £500 million over 10 years, to help support shared and integrated education in Northern Ireland.
