unstar this property answer text <p>Discussions are ongoing between the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and the Department of Justice in relation to the application of the landmark Domestic Abuse Bill to Northern Ireland. Details will be announced in due course.</p><p>The Department of Justice in Northern Ireland is progressing a range of work in relation to on pre-existing policy decisions on domestic violence and abuse, in conjunction with its statutory, voluntary and community sector partners. including a domestic abuse offence; domestic homicide reviews, a domestic violence and abuse disclosure scheme; a streamlined advocacy support service; behavioural change programmes for those demonstrating concerning behaviours and an advertising campaign to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the availability of the disclosure scheme. A locally elected, democratically accountable devolved government will mean that decisions affecting the people of Northern Ireland can be taken by locally elected ministers as soon as possible. The Secretary of State also recognises the importance of providing clarity on this issue, and is currently considering the recent judgment and the next steps.</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Ireland Civil Service is in the midst of the appointment process for an Interim Advocate and expects the post to be filled shortly.</p><p> </p> more like this

Their officials are ensuring that appropriate advice in relation to welfare mitigations is available for an incoming Minister.</p><p>In addition, the Northern Ireland Affairs and Work and Pensions Committees are holding a joint inquiry into welfare policy in Northern Ireland. The inquiry will consider the impact of the mitigation package, and how the alternative payment arrangements in Northern Ireland are working in practice.</p><p>It is for the Department for Communities in Northern Ireland to provide the necessary information to facilitate this inquiry.</p> more like this

This reported that 64% of adults aged 16+ were either overweight (37%) or obese (27%). The full findings of the report are available on the Department of Health’s website.</p><p> </p><p>The Department’s current obesity prevention framework ‘<em>A Fitter Future for All 2012-2022’</em> recognises the need to improve food and nutrition and encourage physical activity among the population to reduce the prevalence of obesity. This framework is also available on the Department’s website.</p><p> </p><p>Northern Ireland does not use Clinical Commissioning Groups, and a tier three and tier four management service is not currently commissioned in NI. The NI Department of Health has established a task and finish group to explore options for the development of a regional prototype bariatric service.</p><p> </p> more like this
