answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>The MoJ is committed to allowing every person who is entitled to a refund to apply for one.</p><p> </p><p>We are unable to predict the year in which all of the refunds will have been made. This is because it is dependent on those eligible coming forward to claim a refund.</p><p> </p><p>We have taken a wide range of proactive steps to publicise the refund scheme, including through the gov.uk website, letters to parliamentarians, and information disseminated through partners such as trades unions, the Law Society and the Citizens Advice. From April 2018, we wrote to everyone entitled to a refund and who had not yet applied, as well as interested MPs, to ensure they were aware of the scheme and how to apply. This is approximately 54% of expected refund applications. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/07/2019 answer text <p>OPG are aware of 2 cases of the fraudulent creation of LPAs in the last 6 months – out of over 890,000 registered in 2018/19. We are not aware of any concerns of fraud being raised with the OPG in relation to the process of creating LPAs in the previous 5 years. Both cases have been thoroughly investigated and a lessons learned exercise conducted – part of which was an assessment of the process of registering an LPA. We have extremely good working relationships with the financial and legal sectors – and work closely with them to ensure that our processes together do all they can to eliminate fraud.</p><p> </p><p>As of 31<sup>st</sup> March 2019, OPG had 3,906,416 powers of attorney and deputyship orders on its register and in the financial year 2018/19 we undertook 2,883 investigations covering a whole range of issues. This represented 0.07% of the total powers on the register. And only in 25% of those cases was there any need for court action in relation to the deputy or attorney albeit not all court applications were for removal of an attorney or deputy, some applications relate to requests for information or clarifying a person’s capacity. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/07/2019 answer text <p>A decree nisi is the provisional decree of divorce pronounced when the court is satisfied that a person has met the legal and procedural requirements to obtain a divorce. The sole ground for divorce is that the marriage has broken down irretrievably. Currently, the law requires a person seeking a divorce to satisfy the court of one of five ‘facts’. One fact requires that the parties of the marriage have lived apart for a continuous period of at least two years immediately preceding the presentation of the petition for divorce, and that the respondent consents to a decree being granted.</p><p> </p><p>In 2018 there were 118,355 divorce petitions, of which 32,297 (27%) cited the two-year separation fact. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/07/2019 answer text <p>We are taking decisive steps to tackle the use of drones as a supply route for organised criminals to bring contraband, including drugs, into prisons.</p><p> </p><p>Prisons use netting and window grilles to stop drones from delivering contraband successfully. To deter criminals, HM Prison and Probation Service is also working closely with the police to arrest suspected drone operators and secure convictions. Thanks to such joint working, and following the largest investigation of its kind, an organised criminal gang of 15 were collectively sentenced in October 2018 to nearly 40 years in prison for using drones to deliver drugs into Merseyside prisons. The ringleader received a sentence of 10 years, the highest single sentence for drone-related activity to date.</p><p> </p><p>Where contraband gets into prisons using a drone, our counter-measures assist us to retrieve them and frustrate further criminal activity. In respect of drugs, our Drugs Taskforce is working with law enforcement to restrict supply. It has also developed a national Prison Drug Strategy which was published in April to reduce demand for drugs and build recovery, as well as restrict supply.
