answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Ministry of Justice does not collect information centrally on Litigants in Person, or on who is cross examining witnesses in family court cases.</del></p><br /><p><ins class="ministerial">The Government takes the issue of domestic violence extremely seriously. A number of recent measures have been taken to strengthen and clarify the family court’s response to issues of domestic violence.</ins></p><br /><p><ins class="ministerial">Where criminal and <a href="http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecution/domestic/domv.html#a10" target="_blank">civil proceedings</a> are taking place at the same time, prosecutors will ensure that the court has the appropriate information to enable them to make other orders that prioritise the safety of victims, children and young people.</ins></p><br /><p><ins class="ministerial">Guidance to the family court makes clear that if domestic violence is alleged, the court must take this is into account when making decisions about contact with a child and the welfare of the child is of paramount importance.</ins></p><p><br /><ins class="ministerial"> Her Majesty’s Courts &amp; Tribunal Services (HMCTS) are constantly looking for ways to improve the service that they offer to victims and witnesses. This includes making the appropriate links between family court proceedings and the criminal justice system.</ins></p><br />

answer text <p>Information about the volumes and outcomes of appeals - including (a) Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and (b) Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) - to the First-tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support) (SSCS) is published at:</p><p>www.gov.uk/government/collections/tribunals-statistics.</p><p> </p><p>Latest figures (to September 2018) indicate that since PIP was introduced, 3.7 million decisions have been made, and of these 10% have been appealed and 5% have been overturned at tribunals. For ESA, 3.7m ESA (post Work Capability Assessment) decisions have been made between April 2014 and June 2018 and of these 8% have been appealed and 4% have been overturned at tribunals.</p><p> </p><p>HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service does not record data based on constituencies. answer text <p>The information requested is not held centrally to a sufficient degree of accuracy for release. It is not mandatory for offenders on arrival at prisons establishments to provide this information and the interface would not be able to differentiate search criteria in order to obtain this percentage.</p><p> </p><p>We are taking forward recommendations, including giving governors the budget and flexibility to spend their resources appropriately to help prisoners keep important family or significant other ties which occurred in October 2017. Prison Governors are working in partnership with family services providers to meet the identified needs of prisoners, including developing relationships for prisoners who do not have access to family for several reasons including leaving the social care system.</p><p> </p><p>We commissioned Lord Farmer to undertake a review on the importance of family engagement to reduce reoffending and prevent intergenerational crime, the recommendations from which we are now implementing. Lord Farmer is currently carrying out a further review on family ties, focusing on female offenders, which is expected to be published shortly</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>

answer text <p>The family courts take the issue of domestic violence extremely seriously. Where domestic violence is an issue in the family court, judges follow guidance in Practice Direction 12J. This guidance makes clear that where violence or abuse is admitted or proven, any child arrangements order must protect the safety and wellbeing of the child and the parent with whom the child is living, and must not expose them to the risk of further harm. In particular, the court must be satisfied that any contact ordered with a parent who has perpetrated violence or abuse is safe and in the best interests of the child.</p><p>Where the court does conclude that direct contact is safe and beneficial for the child, it can impose conditions such as supervised contact to protect the child.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Local Authorities are statutorily responsible for working with and supporting an individual in order to assist them into securing settled accommodation. However, as part of our probation reforms, all offenders get targeted support when they leave prison to help them reintegrate into society. This includes working with local partners to help them find accommodation.</p><p> </p><p>Up until 2014/15 prisons were responsible for collecting information on accommodation outcomes for prisoners on release. The figures are based on prisoners self-reporting. Figures for the percentage of prisoners released into settled accommodation for the financial years 2010-11 to 2014-15 are published on gov.uk.</p><p> </p><p>From 1 May 2015 Community Rehabilitation Companies became responsible for helping offenders obtain suitable accommodation as part of their Through the Gate resettlement services. Information on what proportion of prisoners left prisons with settled accommodation for the financial year 2015-2016 and monthly information since April 2016 is not available centrally and could only be provided at disproportionate cost.</p>
