unstar this property answer text <p>Alongside other government departments, we are currently considering the best way to approach Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting in the Civil Service. Ethnicity Pay Gap Reporting is voluntary.</p><p>We are working with Civil Service HR colleagues and other government departments to work through the details of the Ethnicity Pay Gap reporting guidance that was published on 17 April 2023.</p><p><br> In line with Gender Pay Gap Reporting, the Civil Service is looking to develop a consistent methodology to be used in departments to produce the data. The outcomes of this development work will inform whether we are able to publish a report for 2023/2024.</p><p>More generally the Civil Service is undertaking extensive work both centrally and within departments to promote diversity across its workplaces, including ethnicity.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice conducts regular equality impact assessments on all proposed pay and policy changes and implementation. The MoJ operates a pay and grading structure where pay is defined by job weight and content.</p><p> </p><p>HMPPS is responsible for preparing and submitting the Government’s annual evidence on Prison Officer’s pay to the independent Prison Service Pay Review Body. As part of this process, HMPPS looks at all equality issues based on the proposals and monitor the diversity of the remit group from available data. A full review was conducted in 2012 which resulted in the introduction of a new pay and grading structure and new ways of working (Fair and Sustainable) for Prison Officer grades. Fair and Sustainable was introduced to support pay equality, with salary determined by the requirements of the role based on the Job description.</p><p> </p><p>An Equality Impact Assessment on pay in the National Probation Service was carried out in September 2018 as part of a project to reform its pay structure.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice did not miss the deadline or refile its gender pay gap data for 2017-18 and this data was filed on time.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry was however required to revise its Gender Pay Gap data for 2016-17 as, in reviewing the data for 2017-18 report calculation, it became apparent that the calculations for the 2016-17 Gender Pay Gap report incorrectly included Occupational Sick Pay (OSP) in addition to normal pay.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Justice had previously submitted its 2016-17 figures within the required deadline, however, as it is not possible to amend an existing entry once submitted, the 2016-17 figures had to be refiled and therefore showing as missing the original deadline.</p> more like this
