Thebigword are also responsible for carrying out audits to ensure subcontractor adherence to the contract service specification.</p><p> </p><p>All language professionals provided by thebigword, whether directly or via subcontractor, will be subject to ongoing quality assurance provided by The Language Shop. Two were rejected at the time of implementation. Action to improve prison safety and security continues alongside reforms to overhaul the system to focus on the rehabilitation of offenders. We are tackling the supply and demand of drugs, drones and phones, which drive prison violence and undermine safety.</p><p>We are redoubling our efforts to address the record levels of self-harm. We have taken immediate action to strengthen the frontline. We have passed our target to recruit 2,500 extra prison officers, seven months ahead of schedule. Over 3,100 new staff are in post. This is evident for all young offenders, including those who identify as Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT).</p><p> </p><p>It is noteworthy, however, that in the 2015/16 ‘Children in Custody’ report that describes the number of GRT children in young offender institutions (YOI), that participation in education, work or vocational or skills training in custody is higher for those identifying as GRT in YOIs when compared to the rest of the cohort.</p><p> </p><p>In December we set out our response to Charlie Taylor’s review of the youth justice system and how we will improve outcomes for young people across the youth custodial estate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/03/2017 answer text <p>The Youth Justice Board (YJB) is planning to stipulate the future collection of ethnicity data based on the ‘18+1’ ethnicity categories used in the 2011 Census (which includes ‘Gypsy or Irish Traveller’ as a separate category) as part of its Annual Data Recording Guidance. This guidance will be issued to Local Authority Youth Offending Teams (YOTs) by the start of the new reporting year in April 2017. Once this guidance is issued, YOTs, the YJB and the secure estate will need to make changes to their various IT systems. This requires updating over 150 systems and the technical standards between them.</p><p> </p><p>The YJB estimate that the changes will be implemented by spring 2018.
