The government is committed to making sure the criminal justice system is fair and just and recognises that continued work is needed to understand the experience of Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) young people in the criminal justice system. The Youth Justice Board is working with a wide range of organisations, including youth offending teams, to address the over-representation of BAME young people in the justice system.
