answer text <p>No Open Individual Trade Control Licences have been granted for bombs and missiles to Saudi Arabia.</p><p> </p><p>We believe the question was intended to ask about the three Open Individual Export Licences (OIELs), relating to Storm Shadow and Brimstone air-to-surface missiles, manufactured by MBDA and Paveway bombs, manufactured by Raytheon.</p><p> </p><p>We do not hold data for the number of weapons exported under an OIEL each year. OIEL applications do not include values because OIELs are generally not restricted by quantity.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Implementing the Withdrawal Agreement agreed with the EU remains the Government’s preferred outcome. This can ensure the UK’s continued participation in those trade agreements that the EU has struck with third party countries.</p><p>Nevertheless, a responsible Government prepares for all eventualities and work continues to transition these agreements into a UK context in time for an exit on 29<sup>th</sup> March 2019.</p><p>The Government will update the House shortly on the progress of its continuity programme and will continue to inform the House when further agreements are signed.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government is proud of our high standards of food safety and environmental protections and these will not be watered down when we leave the EU.</p><p> </p><p>When we leave the EU, we will maintain our current standards. We will keep our existing UK legislation, and the EU Withdrawal Act will convert EU law into UK law as it applies at the moment of exit. This includes the regulatory regime for food safety, animal welfare, and regulatory product requirements for industrial goods.</p><p> </p><p>Nothing in EU trade agreements, for example the recent EU-Canada agreement (CETA), prevents the UK from regulating in the pursuit of legitimate public policy objectives.</p><p> </p><p>Future trade agreements will support sustainability and environmental goals and maintain safety and public confidence in the food we eat. We are exploring all options in the design of future bilateral trade and investment agreements, including possible environmental provisions within these taking into account results of the DIT consultation exercise.</p><p> </p>

answer text <p>The UK continues to support the implementation of the EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the East Africa Community (EAC). As and when EAC partners find a way to agree to sign the EPA, the UK will seek to replicate this agreement.</p><p>As the UK leaves the EU, we want to avoid disruption to trade with EAC partners as far as possible. The Taxation (Cross-Border Trade) Act enables the UK to put in place a UK trade preferences scheme for developing countries. This will grant duty-free quota-free access to UK markets for Least Developed Countries including Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda and South Sudan, while providing generous tariff reductions for other developing countries including Kenya.</p> more like this
