We use assessments from humanitarian agencies, including the United Nations, to determine how we can best support these vulnerable children.</p><p>The assessments reinforce that psychological trauma amongst children is acute in some of the world’s worst conflicts. In Syria, the annual UN Humanitarian Needs Overview states that 1 in 4 children are at risk of developing mental health disorders. In Iraq, UNICEF judges emotional distress as a critical issue for children fleeing or currently living under Daesh. Afghan children are at risk of psychological distress, particularly in urban areas. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2017 answer text <p>In 2013 the UK hosted the ‘Call to Action on Preventing Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies’ where we committed to improving our response to gendered violence in emergencies.</p><p>At the World Humanitarian Summit in 2016, the UK further committed to drive accountability for gender responsive humanitarian action, by supporting the US Real Time Accountability Partnership. This requires our humanitarian partners to make use of internationally agreed tools such as the ‘Guidelines for Integrating Gender-Based Violence Interventions in Humanitarian Action’ in their programme design.</p><p>DFID recently announced a new Women and Girls Protection fund that aims to protect women and girls on the move in Libya and Europe. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/02/2017 answer text <p>The World Food Programme (WFP) has trialled the use of Joint Precision Airdrop System (JPADS) as part of its humanitarian airdrop operations to Deir Ez-Zour. WFP report that the cost of JPADS was roughly 3.5 times higher than non-guided parachutes, and that the average percentage of goods recovered from 27 JPADS airdrops was lower than the average for non-guided parachutes.</p><p>The UK does not possess a JPADS capability. We continue to work with partners to explore all viable options for delivering aid into besieged areas in Syria.
